Alternative and Respite families

Alternative families

Alternative families offer long-term support in their home by sharing their family life and activities.

In addition to receiving the care they need, clients who benefit from these accommodations participate in the daily lives of families: they share meals, chores, leisure activities, and other daily activities.

This program is a means to support and motivate the clients, to teach them how to improve their skills personally and to help them exercise their decision-making rights in their personal lives.

Respite Families

Respite services are provided to the natural or alternative families by accommodating the client at least one weekend per month, for a two-day period.

This program is available for adults 19 years and older, with no maximum age limit.

In addition to providing a break for families, this service allows the client to experience new activities, meet new people and create new friendships.
